Recently in class I was asked to write my “senior wills and plans.” My first thought was just to say “good luck” to the junior class and tell them to enjoy their last year of high school, but then it hit me, what am I leaving behind?
I began to realize I had spent the last few years of high school solely focused on the moment I could finally get out there and into college. I had wasted years of getting to know the people I attend school with daily, people who I had passed in the halls for 4 years of my life.
I decided then and there for the rest of the year that I was going to get to know these strangers. It has been one of the best decisions I could have made. I’ve gotten to know so many wonderful and amazing people who I normally would never have even thought I would be friends with.
Think about what you’re leaving behind.
Reminisce with friends, forgive those who you don’t like, and get to know people.
What would you do if tomorrow never came? So, while you should look forward to college, remember not to forget to enjoy your senior year! I encourage you to take chances and live life.
