College is like it’s own little planet. Think about it, people from all different places, backgrounds, and cultures are all of a sudden coming to the same location to live. It is the creation of a miniature, diverse and party-filled world, something like a Television sitcom.

Upon your arrival at college, walking the campus and living areas can be quite an interesting thing to observe. With so many varied types of people roaming this new and unfamiliar campus, you’re bound to meet some very interesting characters. However, college does stand true to many of it’s stereotypes, so as a female, you are likely to run across what I like to call the five typical types of guys of college. Some are there to date, some as lifelong friends, some for a good time, and some just for a good laugh. But all of these guys will in one way or another complete your college experience.

Guy Number 1: The Athlete. Whether you’re jogging around the track or strolling past the practice fields, you’re bound to meet one of these. Look out for their toned bods, loud school spirit, and even louder mouths. The athlete is always a good time and the very dedicated type, just watch out for their egos!

Guy Number 2: The Frat Boy. Remember how I mentioned athletes having loud mouths and big egos? So do frat guys, it’s just multiplied. Sometimes they have the hot bods too, but sometimes you’ll noticed those muscles are just replaced with a beer belly. One thing the frat boy is though is a charmer. This type is full of great lines. And they sure know how to party, all though they might be more interested in their bromances than a romance with you.

Guy Number 3: The International. Every campus is bound to have their foreign students. Extremely intelligent, maybe a little lost, but they certainly see the world (at least they see America) with a fresh pair of eyes. This type can be extremely interesting and great for conversation, unless of course there is a language barrier.

Guy Number 4: The Intellectual. This type’s intelligence can range from sexy to nerdy, but the point is they’ve got smarts. The intellectual is inspiring. They will teach you things you never knew, engage in great debates, and even help you study. Sometimes though, their involvement with their own serious thoughts about the world will stop them from giving you (and themselves) a well-needed laugh.

Guy Number 5: The Artist. Whether they’re a painter, actor, or musician, the artist is a truly intriguing type. They are fantastic at wooing women with their many talents, passions, and sensitivity. They are clever, creative, and typically humorous, but these flattering traits can also quickly cross into overly emotional and introverted. This type will always help you spark a new idea though!

So don’t be afraid to travel around campus and explore what type of stereotypical college guy fits you best! Remember, even if he does fit one of the described typical types, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have other attributes that will blow you away!
