If you play your cards right, this could be a perfect scenario for you. Staying close to home means you’ll know everything that there is to do, which can be used to your advantage. All of those out of town or out of state kids will want to know what there is to do in their new home for the next four years, and you can be the guy who shows them around. This is a great way to make new friends, and then on top of that you’ll have all of your hometown buddies to hangout with every once in a while. By no means should you be worried about staying at home, but just make sure to put yourself out there and make an effort to meet as many people as possible.
Going to College in my Hometown
I’m going to my local hometown university, and will be the “hometown hero”. Is it really an advantage knowing all the hot spots in the area? Or will it just lead to being stuck hanging out with my same high school friends and not really branching out into the full college experience?
